Seriously cool, LumaFusion now edits ProRes on iPad. I've just tried 4K 60FPS Proxy, LT, 422. HQ and 444, LumaFusion sees them all from an external SSD :)

This was on an iPad Pro M1, I've still yet to try the 2020 Pro. I'll have an iPhone 13 Mini and an iPad Mini this Friday and will test them ASAP.

As was already conjectured, this is obviously due to iOS/iPadOS 15, there may also be hardware considerations, I'll find that out soon.

It's too late right now for me to do a video with V/O. However, I'll post a video later today.

LumaFusion, the NLE that keeps on giving :)

Cheers,
Dave.

Excellent. What sort of videos do you plan to use ProRes for? (And which ones don’t merit it?)

OMG! David, you might be about to save me cash AGAIN. (considering a lens cap lens for vlogging, anyone? )

I literally have my finger hovering over the 'buy now' on a macbook. Perhaps I can keep my 2020 ipad pro in service a bit longer.

That's just awesome news. I'm still getting used to 4K, so no Prores for me for now (I'll have to invest in a camera capable of it first), but is so good to hear that LF is keeping up with the latest technology. I'm also glad I finally upgraded to an M1 12.9 iPP. That saves me upgrade money further into the near future.

I wonder if iPadOS 15 will also allow for saving a video out in ProRES? Sometimes it might be useful to be able to save to ProRES when dealing with intermediate renders (probably not for final delivery).

Defo keep your cash in your pocket for now. Someone else will probably try it out but I'll defo try the 2020 as soon as I update it to iPadOS15.

Yes, awesome news and it's good to see how far LT can push LF.

iPadOS probably can export ProRes but LumaFusion can't. I'd imagine the FCPXML export option will allow a round trip with ProRes as long as its this is just file linking and not rendering, although I don't have that so can't test it. Maybe someone else on the forum or LumaTouch can confirm that.
